The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has not implemented an effective method of ensuring that general aviation pilots who use an alternative to the standard medical certification process are meeting all eligibility requirements, a government watchdog agency says.

Mexico’s aviation safety rating has been downgraded by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.
The agency clears the way for 737-8 and 737-9 aircraft to return to service, possibly by the end of this year.
The U.S. Government Accountability Office also seeks periodic reviews of aviation safety training curricula for inspectors and engineers.
